The AV-02T Lehrer is a police training labor based on the AV-02 Valiant. Like the earlier AV-98T Dolphin, the Lehrer was used to train police labor pilots to operate the latest frontline patlabors. Isao Ohta was assigned to a Lehrer squadron, where he served as a training instructor, by the events of Patlabor 2: The Movie.

Design[]

The AV-02T is essential an AV-02 that's been stripped of its armor. Most of the Valiant's armor has been removed or cut to reduce overall cost. Where armor was removed, additional structural supports were installed to increase the Lehrer's durability. An armor plate was installed over the sensors in the head unit, reducing their effectiveness but protecting them from physical damage. Additionally, the cockpit was exposed to increase visibility and ease of egress.
