The AV-5 Magnum is an original Patlabor which debuted only in the PATLABOR OPERATION TOKYO BAY PC game

Design & Development[]

The Magnum was a new cutting-edge machine in the AV series like the Ingram and Peacemaker. It was deployed at the same time as the establishment of the 3rd Platoon, 2nd Special Vehicle Division. This is the last Patlabor to be created as of today. Unlike the rounded design of previous Shinohara patrol labors, it features a very linear design. Similarly to the Valiant, the method of boarding the cockpit was revised to be from the back, but in this aircraft, boarding is again from the front. The patrol lights on the shoulders were changed from the original red to one with two colors of red and blue. It comes equipped with the stun baton along with what appears to be some kind of autocannon instead of the revolver cannon, which can be retrieved from the forearm of the labor.
