First-Generation Patlabor

First-generation patlabors were the very first patlabors to hit the market. Typically no more than repainted construction labors, first-generation patlabors were largely deemed unsatisfactory by the police units that fielded them. Although a skilled pilot could effectively wield a first-generation patlabor, they were unable to compensate for a lesser pilot's skill. The only on-screen appearance of a first-generation patlabor was the ASUKA-MPL-96 seen piloted by Isao Ohta in episode one of the Mobile Police Patlabor anime, but a second, the AV-95 Gorilla, appears in the manga .
