The HL-97 Bulldog (Also known as the Bulldog H09) is a multipurpose labor manufactured by Hishii Heavy Industries (HHI).

Design[]

The Bulldog is designed for utility and general use, so lacks overall dexterity and agility. However, in addition to being well-suited to its purpose, its design also leads it to be one of the more affordable labors on the market.

The Bulldog is equipped with a drive system that was slightly above-average at the time of its release, but it quickly became outclassed by other construction labors. It is still capable of lifting and transporting heavy objects, such as raw materials and cargo containers. Its durable outer shell is made of fiber-reinforced plastic, giving it exceptional impact resistance without affecting weight and balance. The Bulldog's large padded feet provide excellent ground pressure distribution, allowing it to operate on unimproved terrain and without damaging pavement. Each arm is equipped with a three-finger manipulator, each finger of which can be independently articulated. Mounted atop the labor is a glass canopy-style cockpit which gives the pilot excellent forward, lateral, and upward visibility, though the type's lack of camera sensors hinders its rear and downward vision.

Aside from being used by criminals and a myriad of construction workers, the Bulldog also saw use by the Tokyo Fire Department and Sunrise Airlines (SAL). One SAL Bulldog was piloted by Noa Izumi in the TV episode "Farewell Kanuka," where she used the labor to help apprehend a terrorist attempting to seize control of a passenger airliner.
