Hiromi Yamazaki is the tragic giant of SV-2 unit who, despite being part of the unit, cannot pilot in an Ingram due to his towering height of over 2 meters. He has a rough appearance, but is caring and gentle in nature, and is easily moved to tears and timid. He's extremely strong, as demonstrated in Movie 1 and 2 where Yamazaki mans the massive anti-labor rifle borrowed from the Narashino Parachute Labor team (apparently an M82 anti-material rifle). He shows the same strength in the TV series when he and Ohta fire the Ingram's Revolver cannon without the aid of a Labor, at the Schaft Griffon

Personality[]

Even though Hiromi looks rather intimidating, he is quite gentle and hardly ever speaks. He tends the tomatoes in the greenhouse and looks after the hen-house at the SV-2 in his spare time. These duties actually provide a substantial amount of food for the officers.

Biography[]

Hiromi Yamazaki was born in Ishigaki, Okinawa sometime in 1975 making him 23 as of 1998. He wanted to join his father as a fisherman but easily get seasick. Since he has a family of anglers, he is familiar with the ecology of marine life. Not only that, but she also has high breeding skills for cats and other animals. Furthermore, in his novel version, he once told Asuma about the ecology of pigs. Considering the above-mentioned tomato cultivation and chicken breeding, he may be well versed in agriculture and livestock as a whole. He later joined the police force and eventually made it over to SV-2 though too large to fit in a labor's cockpit, so he is designated as the carrier driver for Unit 1. When not on duty he tends to SV.2's vegetable garden where his green fingers can be seen.
