Hishii Heavy Industries (HHI) is a prominent manufacturer of labors in the Patlabor franchise. The company directly competes with rival Shinohara Heavy Industries (SHI), and produces many labors that directly compete with them in the construction market.
Labor Development & Model Ranges[]
Construction Labors[]

HHI Manufactures a line of five construction labors, each designed for different roles. The company's first construction labor, the HL-96 "Tyrant 2000", was rolled out in late 1995. The Tyrant 2000 was designed as a massive heavy-lifting labor, capable of carrying and manipulating massive loads, but lacking precision control capabilities. Subsequent labors in HHI's construction line would be smaller, the smallest being the HL-97 "Bulldog", an all-purpose construction type. Newer models, such as the HL-98 "Hercules 21" and the HL-99 Rex 2500, strike a balance between the Tyrant and the Bulldog, able to fit into most construction sites but retaining high power for their weight. The fifth labor in HHI's construction line, the ML-98 Celkee H10, is a specialized underwater construction machine.
Military Labors[]

HHI is well-known for the AL-97 family of military labors, the AL-97 Atlas, AL-97B Samson, and AL-9B-var Hannibal. These machines are heavy labors armed with rapid-fire guns, and are capable of a wide variety of missions. Each subsequent model built on the previous type to resolve issues that arose in the field. HHI engineers were also utilized during the development of the HAL X-10, but SHI was responsible for much of the design work and manufacturing.
Miscellaneous Labors[]

HHI has also manufactured labors for highly specialized purposes. The CRL-98 Pyro-Buster is a firefighting labor designed to put out fires with its large water cannons, and is capable of briefly operating independently from a pumper truck due to a built-in water tank. The type can also provide physical support to damaged structures to aid in search and rescue efforts. HHI engineers were also involved with the development of Schaft Enterprises' SRX-70 prototype patlabor, but Toyohata Auto was responsible for most of the design work and manufacturing.
