General Information[]
Jake is the field commander of Schaft Security Systems who was in charge of the Griffon recapture efforts. In the anime, he only appears until the Griffon Incident in Tokyo Bay, but in the manga version, he continues to secretly pursue Utsumi with his SSS subordinates. Although he is a man of few words and does not express it directly, he knows a lot about Utsumi and Kurosaki, and it is clear from his words that he strongly dislikes them. In the manga, he then takes on the pseudonym Samejima and works under Tokunaga. Although he succeeds in locating Utsumi and Griffon, he falls for a trick in Karuizawa which allowed him to escape. He ends up stabbing Utsumi with a knife in the control room, and is shot dead by Kurosaki.
