Kazamori is a young detective who appears as Matsui's subordinate in the manga, belonging to the Metropolitan Police Department's Investigation Division. He plays a role roughly equivalent to Kataoka in the anime. He met Noa Izumi at a crime scene before she was assigned to the second special vehicle division, and when they met again later, he showed signs of making moves on her. Matsui advised against flirting with her during this time in her life, saying how she'd be "unmanageable." He has a talent for creating portraits based on eyewitness testimony, and when he drew a portrait of Utsumi based on Kumagami's testimony, Kumagami herself confirmed his likeness in the sketch, and it became the source of a montage photo used in subsequent investigations.
