Kurosaki is one of the main antagonists of the Patlabor Manga, Patlabor: On Television, and Patlabor: New Files. He works directly under Utsumi as his right hand man, doing the "dirty work" needed to continue Planning Section 7's plans.

Personality[]

Kurosaki is a lot colder of a person in comparison to Utsumi, preferring to work in the shadows to carry out whatever work is needed of him. He takes on the dirty work, and is ruthless enough to do whatever it takes to eliminate anyone who poses a hindrance to Utsumi. On many occasions he has saved Utsumi who tends to fall into predicament due to his unpredictable nature. One of his most notable characteristics is the fact he often carries a handgun for when situations get dire.

The name "Kurosaki" is a pseudonym (not just him, but all of Utsumi's subordinates have surnames based on their colors), and the story of how he became Utsumi's subordinate has not yet been clarified. Despite being disgruntled by the decisions of his boss Utsumi, he still remains loyal to Utsumi even when cornered by the police or Schaft Security Systems. He has a low tolerance for Bud's bratty behavior, frequently suggesting to Utsumi that he should "abandon" or get rid of Bud. At times Kurosaki would either threaten or physically assault Bud if his tantrums got in the way of Section 7's plans.

Biography[]

Kurosaki would be the mastermind behind both of the "Phantom" incidents in Tokyo, using an unmanned labor to collect combat data from Section 2 Division 2. He would later assist Utsumi during the confrontations with the police using the Type-J9 Griffon, taking over Planning Section 7 after Utsumi flees from Japan. In the manga he would recover the Griffon's operating system the Asura, using the Griffon's aquatic attachments to do so. In The New Files he'd encounter Utsumi in Japan once more, joining together to pawn off the development team who worked on it. Both Utsumi and Kurosaki would escape after the Griffon's defeat. In the manga, it also appears that Kurosaki and Jake seemed to be familiar with each other, possible acquaintances in the past. However at the end of the manga, Kurosaki would end up shooting Jake dead at Tokyo’s Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal after he stabbed Utsumi.
