Unlike other labors, the Frogman is dedicated to underwater work and research. Kawashima Shipbuilding's M135 "Frogman" is a dedicated machine that specializes in such underwater jobs, especially surveys and quantities.
Design and Development[]
The M135 Frogman is a second generation labor which adopted a fuel cell that can operate for a long time underwater, which is unsafe. The drive system also avoids electric actuators, which require operating clearance, and hydraulic systems, whose volume decreases sharply in deep water. The notarized pressure limit is 50m, but could last up to 300m due to the water pressure increasing just by moving deeper underwater.
Each monkey joint type joint can be barged with explosive bolts in case of emergency, and it can rise to the surface of the water with just the air tank and cockpit. Of course, the cameras installed all over the body and advanced image correction, as well as the large legs that can be utilized even in sludge, making work even more sufficient. However, such specifications lead to soaring airframe prices, and for civilian use, almost all companies use them. The largest user is the Japan Coast Guard, and it is used for a wide range of missions such as underwater rescue operations.
