Mahoko Goto is the niece of Kiichi Goto, being the daughter of Goto's unnamed brother. At first she always carried a wisftul and melancholic look, tending Gozo Buchiyama's shop part time. She plays the role of both L and L's sister, switching between the roles to elicit fear in the members of Division 2, making them think twice about their reckless actions. After Kanuka had solved Goto's plan, she then arrives and confirms that her assessment of the events in the training camp were factual. She appeared to have a normal and positive demeanor, in comparison to her melancholic ghost-like one.
