Mikiyasu Shinshi is the a former businessman, and is the only member of the 2nd Platoon with a wife. Shinshi comes across as a meek man who can be easily pushed around.
Personality[]
He is very devoted to his wife Tamiko, and tends to snap and go off like a stick of dynamite when people make fun of him or his wife. He even scares Ohta when this occurs. He has quite a bit of programming and computer talent but is rarely seen because of his position as the carrier driver for Unit 2. He has a temperamental and mild-mannered personality, and is susceptible to stress and cannot do without his stomach medicine. On the other hand, when he loses his temper, his glasses light up and he sometimes goes off the rails to the extent that even Ohta is overwhelmed (Kanuka describes him as a "backfire").
Biography[]
Mikiyasu Shinshi was born in Fujieda, Shizuoka sometime in 1971 making him 27 as of 1998. He is a graduate of Tokyo University, and before becoming a police officer, he was an office worker for a general trading company. He was scouted by Kiichi Goto and assigned to Special Vehicle Section 2 . At first, he was a backup for Isao Ohta , but due to his timid personality, he could not stop his runaway and became a driver of a carrier (a truck that transports Labor). In Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie, he is promoted to the manager of the General Affairs Department of the Metropolitan Police Department.
