Taking Care of Business
I'd originally wanted to update these site notices monthly, but sometimes life happens and you can't actively tend to the wiki. However, we've still been working behind the scenes to bring this place up to standard. Notably, over the last few weeks, we finally managed to find and emulate the Operation Tokyo Bay game from 1994, which has revealed some goodies for us to share. Keep an eye on its page and look out for new pages as information becomes available. To our visitors, enjoy your stay. To our editors, keep up the great work. May EZY come out this calendar year.

Wisdom and courage to all,

Noa Izumi is the main protagonist of Patlabor the early days, Patlabor: The Movie, and Patlabor 2: The Movie. She is a supporting character in WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3.

Personality[]

She has a cheerful personality and is good with people. She also has a strong sense of justice and does not hesitate to take on dangerous missions ordered by Kiichi Goto. She is a pacifist who tries to minimize the use of force on duty, but depending on the situation, she can also show belligerence. Noa is somewhat impulsive, albeit not nearly as much as Isao Ohta. Aside from her excessive affection for Ingram Unit 1, she is a relatively common-sense person among the members of the 2nd Division. She has a close relationship with her partner, Asuma Shinohara, but she doesn't seem to be aware of his romantic feelings. Noa is arguably the best pilot in Division 2, although both Kanuka Clancy and Takeo Kumagami have shown extreme talent as well but seldom pilot. She has a natural affinity for labors like pets and named her personal Ingram unit "Alphonse", a name previously held by a pet dog and a pet cat. As the main character of the action, she gets 110% out of the labors much to the amazement of her colleagues.

Biography[]

Noa Izumi was born on December 17, 1978, 20 years old (as of 1998) to her mother and father. Her family runs the liquor store "Izumi Liquor Store". When she was a student, she belonged to the women's basketball club, and despite wanting to be an athlete, her plans fell through and she quit altogether.

After graduating High School, she joined the Waseda Police Academy, while also working part time at a National Security Company. Eventually she was recruited to join the "Mobile Police Forces" (renamed to the Special Vehicles Unit), and was able to pass the exam required due to her strong tolerance to motion sickness.

With her phenomenal piloting capabilities, she has won numerous battles against labors with specs that surpass Ingram's with her delicate maneuvers and natural wit. However, because she is unfamiliar with software and usually doesn't like shooting, her shooting accuracy is not as good as Ohta's.

As mentioned above, she has a deep affection for Ingram Unit 1 and named it "Alphonse". The name "Alphonse" was taken from her childhood pet dog. Ingram Unit 1 corresponds to Alphonse III, the first is the aforementioned dog, and the second is the cat. When she's off duty, she often polishes the body of Ingram 1. Due to her deep affection for Ingram Unit 1, she often dislikes fighting battles that could damage it. She'd become excessively upset when the introduction of a replacement machine comes up, and often shows an unsuitable attitude as a police officer. However, she gradually overcomes these aspects while serving as a member of the 2nd Platoon.

Around the fall of 2001, she transferred to the equipment development section of the headquarters with Asuma, and was seconded to Shinohara Heavy Industries, where she served as a test pilot for the new machine. At this time, she was wearing piercings in her ears, and when she responded to Goto's convocation, she expressed to Asuma that she didn't want to be spoiled just because she liked Labor.

Trivia[]
