A Stun Stick (Alternatively known as an Electromagnetic Stun baton, or merely Stun Baton) is an anti-labor weapon utilized by most patlabors. As its name suggests, it is a handheld baton-like device that emits a powerful electromagnetic field capable of incapacitating labors. Compared to the Revolver Cannon, the stun stick is a precision weapon that poses little to no danger of collateral damage, when used properly. In scenarios where civilians are present and/or engagement occurs in a confined space, the stun stick is almost always preferable to the revolver cannon. However, in instances where a hostile labor is at range or has armor fortified against electromagnetic fields, the stun stick is quite ineffective.
Stun sticks are used to destroy the electrical and electronic equipment of civilian laborers, which are subject to crackdowns, but they do not destroy them with just a strong electric shock like human stun guns do. Needle EMP (local electromagnetic pulse) destroys or temporarily paralyzes electronic circuits within a few meters around the tip of the stick. This is a specification to prevent unnecessary harm such as electric shock or burns when there are crew members near the point where the stick is used.
