The Type-5Q/2C Graur Bear is a general-purpose work labor released by Enterprise Europe in 1997. It is a second generation bipedal labor, which could be called the SEE version of the Asuka 95. Only a small number have been exported to Japan, but in Western Europe they are used not only for work purposes but also for security purposes.

Design & Development[]

Made by SEE, the Grau Bear was an advanced labor at the time, with a body with a low center of gravity for stability, a high-output manipulator, and an enclosed cockpit that could be used in all weather conditions. There is an anecdote that Brocken was developed based on the data obtained by this machine, and there are also examples of its use by security companies overseas. Although it is for heavy industrial work, it has heavy armor and impressive strength, making it effective for large-scale development and development work in difficult areas.

The camera eye on the head can be moved block by block on rails, ensuring a field of view of more than 180 degrees to accommodate the all weather cockpit. The highly livable interior space and high-quality interior design, which is typical of a foreign-made vehicle, have become a topic of conversation even among Japanese labor enthusiasts. The fact that it is heavily armored in anticipation of its use as a security guard also gives off a sense of European and American rationality. The Brocken was developed based on the data collected by Grau Bear. On the other hand, the most noticeable difference is the adoption of an enclosed cockpit.

However, the biggest feature of this machine is actually its joint structure, which is invisible from the outside. In particular, the lumbar region, where the thighs are diagonally connected to the ``pelvis,'' is a completely different approach from Shinohara and Hishii's machines. This design concept, modeled after the human body structure, later bore fruit in the Brocken's elegant form.
