Patlabor Wiki

The XR-99 Doshka is a military labor designed by the Leningrad Military Academy of the Soviet Union and manufactured by the Kronstadt Tank Arsenal. It is considered a next generation military labor for the Soviet ground forces. Although "Doshka'' is a code name for NATO, it is not the formal name of the labor, "Doshka'' is often used as the title of the article. As for his common name, it is called "Ivan'' by military personnel from other countries.

Design & Development[]

Labor technology in the East, including the Soviet Union, lags far behind that in the West. Although the Doshka is said to be the next generation of the main Caliber, it is a machine manufactured using technology that is several years behind that of the West. However, due to the high level of basic industry and the specialization of labors, the combat capabilities of this military labor in particular cannot be underestimated.

It features a large tank cannon as its main weapon, a heavy machine gun that can be revealed inside of a protective weapons pod on top of the main turret, and a periscope inside the cockpit for aiming. The large rear legs suggest that the Doshka would be excellent in forward movement and jumping. it is shown to be able to grasp and pounce with them as well. The vents on the rear legs would also suggest that they house an exhaust system, or even more vital components. The rear of the Doshka features two barrels, likely for housing fuel. It has 20% more firepower than the previous east side's main force, Labor, and can be said to be the east side's most powerful machine. Since it was developed for pure military use, its versatility is low, and its control system is not as complete as in the West, so its maneuverability is not high, but it is a machine that cannot be compared to the civilian Labor in terms of power and armor.

Operational History[]

The Doshka was not only supposed to be the main labor of the Russian military, but part of an arms trade between Russia and Vietnam. The trade was supposed to take place in a port in Sakata, a Japanese fishing town. When the Japanese department of public safety caught wind of the arms trade, SV2 was secretly dispatched to help stop the exchange. It was later revealed that the trade ship was hijacked by defected KGB general Ivan Ivanovich Ivanokovsky, planning to give them to a group of rouge public safety agents. This plan was thwarted by both SV2 and a terrorist working for the children of the sea. The event would later be covered up by official media sources.
